Jamies Fruit and Veg
Welcome to Jamie’s Fruit and Veg which is located at White Elm Garden Centre, Bicknacre. We have over 25 years experience in the fruit and veg trade and have a real passion for quality and taste. When in season we stock locally grown produce including asparagus, potatoes, vegetables, Tiptree strawberries, raspberries and cherries. When we can’t source produce locally we purchase fruit, exotic fruit, salads and vegetables from Spitalfields Wholesale market in London, often arriving just after midnight to find the best produce.

Jamie has been working with fruit and veg all his life, starting by working on a market stall in London as a teenager. When the opportunity to work for Harrods came up he took it. He worked his way up to be the fruit and veg buyer/manager of Harrods. He would oversee the day to day running of the famous fruit and vegetable department and sourced the finest products from around the world, often going to Rungis wholesale market in France to purchase the best produce money can buy. Jamie worked for Harrods for 22 years before deciding to try working for himself and now runs Jamie’s Fruit and Veg with his wife Hazel, who has been involved with fruit & veg most of her life. They both have a passion for quality and taste which is evident when you talk to them.
